Patricia M. Boer, Ed.D., NCCC Dr. Boer (Pat) is a Nationally Certified Career Counselor committed to following the WebCounseling Standards established by the National Board of Certified Counselors and National Career Development Association. With 20 years experience in career counseling and vocational testing, Dr. Boer owns and directs a private practice, The Center for Career/Life Planning (CCLP). Pat offers a variety of services for individuals starting out and/or starting over. Her specialty lies in helping clients find direction, plan, and advance careers matching with their individual interests, skills and values. Her clients include students, career changers, women re-entering the workforce after an extended absence, and outplaced professionals. Growing up in southern California, Pat earned her undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling from Indiana State University and a doctorate in Adult Education, with a cognate in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University. As the former Director of the Continuing Education Center for Women at IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis), Pat has extensive experience in program planning, grant writing and adult education. A recipient of national awards for creative programming on leadership and women's issues, she is sought as a public speaker both nationally and internationally, most recently presenting a paper at the Academy for Creative Teaching in Lucerne, Switzerland. In addition, Pat serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership at Ball State University. Considered an expert in career and leadership development, Pat has conducted training programs and workshops for the IUPUI Division of Continuing Studies as well as on-site for local and international companies. Presentations include topics related to career and leadership development including stress management, the development of resilience, spouse relocation, and outplacement. With her extensive experience both on campus and in her private practice, she is the Co-Founder of the Indiana Network for Work/Family Programs as well as the former columnist for Work/Life Solutions column published in the Indianapolis Business Register.
